Building this panel reminded me a lot of Project One, except this time, much of the structure was already in place. Having pre-built code from GetBootstrap made the process significantly easier. As I explored different Bootstrap components, I gained a deeper understanding of how they work together and which elements complement the existing structure. The grid system was a challenge, but I grew to appreciate its visual organization. As a highly visual person, I enjoyed seeing how everything aligned within the grid. Additionally, I earned qualitative points by crafting an aesthetic and cohesive color scheme inspired by chocolate-covered strawberries, ensuring my website maintains a strong visual appeal. I also took extra care with the button design, incorporating a pink inner border to enhance the stylistic elements. I believe this attention to detail elevates the overall design and adds a unique touch. While this is something I am very proud of, it was definitely the aspect I struggled with the most. I just had to work through it and experience a lot of trial and error. I am proud of my ability to work through this.
This panel was the most tedious part of the process and felt like a complete 180 from Panel One. There was a lot of trial and error when replacing images and text within the existing template. While I appreciated the convenience of having a pre-made structure, the process of editing and replacing elements was more challenging than I anticipated. However, I’m proud that I worked through the difficulties and reached a result I was satisfied with. I’ve realized that a lot of coding involves trial and error, which can be time-consuming but ultimately rewarding. I feel I earned qualitative points by incorporating not just one, but two buttons—something that initially felt daunting, as I mentioned in my Panel One reflection. Moving forward, I want to improve my efficiency in working with templates so that the process feels less overwhelming and more intuitive.
This was the most straightforward panel of Project Two and the one I found easiest to complete. The only real challenge was locating the correct code in the main stylesheet to modify it in the new stylesheet. Although this was a time-consuming process, it was incredibly rewarding once I found the right sections and made the necessary changes. I am most proud of my ability to style the website exactly how I envisioned it. I’ve never considered myself particularly tech-savvy, but this project has helped build my confidence in web development. I feel I earned qualitative points through the overall aesthetic and design choices I made, and I’m very proud of the final product. Moving forward, I want to improve my efficiency in identifying and modifying styles within existing stylesheets. I know that becoming more comfortable with reading and understanding CSS will make future projects smoother and even more enjoyable.
